Plastic Industry

I’ve got a head full of yesterday
and the plastic rose discomfort
And in a drawer where it’s dark and safe
are all the faces that just won’t fit
I’m leaning on my future plans
So far their growth seems stunted
Articulate my acceptance speech
But I’ve not been nominated
For this life
The plastic industry
It doesn’t fit

I’ve got selected bouts of amnesia
in mild hot or informal
And I’ve taken all my windows out
to make it all seem less normal
I’ve got a list of things to do this week
My patience has been broken
by blinding thoughts reminding me
that I am not yet chosen
