Trouble On My Doorstep

Woke up this morning
Trouble on my doorstep
Blood on my hounddog
A snake in my laundry
Went down for water
The wind taste like lightning
Preacher was cursing
Oh lord show some mercy
Don’t take my kindred
My mother my children
Wind blew out the candle
The pulpit did tremble
Went to the barn this morning
Couldn’t settle down the pony
Weevil in the corn and
No spark in the motor
Went down to the river
Oh lord take me over
Old mother Russia
I been there and China
Coal in the mines there
It shines like black diamonds
Going to Louisiana
Gonna sing for my supper
