Afterglow

and it’s hard to touch
we’re hangin' on by a thread you know
and it’s all too much
to leave it up to a daft design
are we out to sea
hoping for some elusive line
we ain’t after much
we’re looking for something simplified
what we say and do
i never can put my finger on
we haven’t seen it through
promising years keep passing by
are we all to sing
a similar tune so hypnotized
can we be renewed
or are we hanging on to the afterglow
