Snow Ghosts

The storm has come and brought with it the cold
In the dead of winter, the quiet comes alive
In this hilltop cabin where I sit patiently
The window is frosted in patterns of leaves
Without a word, frozen in time,
Melting down into closed eyes
Underneath electric winter skies
The wind plays in patterns in the fields nearby…
The north wind blows the snow ghosts all around
The cold wind cleans all the cobwebs from my head
