Never Tried

As we get older we dream a little less
I guess I’m just coming to terms with it
My sense of pride is a little tired
My sense of wonder left uninspired
But here we are again
Well I’m no good at uncomfortably honest conversation
So I put it in a song so I can sing instead of say it
Well, lets drive off a bridge and maybe we could fly
We’ve joked around about it but we’ve never tried
Complacency never made great art
But we weren’t the first to put out the spark
I guess I cut my teeth just to bite my tongue now
