Whistle In The Dark

Wallowing in self interest over the garden wall
The wallopers chase but in their haste
Stumble on into the pool
Where everybody is splashing around
Blowing a whistle and fuse
The ghost of Sir Robert bombastically quivers
Covertness the cover we choose
Clambering over the roof
With a horde, but nowhere to strode
This is the moment that dreads forever
So head first this body I throw oh
Everybody is bouncing around waving a truncheon or two
Pig tails in the hobnails and big wigs with saggy jowls
Glazed at the foot of the pool
Everybody is bobbing in time
Sharing nonsensical tunes old ghosts arrive to shimmy and connive
Living a ripple of two
