They knew a foreign language would make test scores hurt
To keep the black man from doing more than service work

At the corner of Moema where it meets Vilakazi
Armed with a voice singing the Sotho anthem
Against guns and ammunition and the violence you’d imagine
Police shot tear gas
Then them bullets would pass
Killing so many people
More than 500 would pass away
And you were only at the age of 13
